I am delighted to be a recent transplant to Asheville (my husband and I moved here several years ago). Growing up in Brooklyn, NY, I fell in love with the Blue Ridge Mountains as a child, spending summers at Camp Judaea in Hendersonville. After graduating with a degree in Drama/Dance from Bard College, I escaped the East Coast for San Francisco. Appreciating the sense of “the big city inside a small town,” I lived there until moving to Asheville – all except for five years in Jerusalem, Israel. My parents had moved to Israel and it became important for me to spend time with them during the final chapter of their lives. I became a real estate agent there, serving a widely diverse clientele, many of whom were buyers from overseas, seeking retirement or vacation properties.
Making people feel at home is one of the joys in my life. And this is what I bring to serving my clients – helping them find the home that will become their nest, their place of celebration, comfort and safety. Or helping sellers prepare their homes for the market, so they can leave the nest for whatever their goals are.
I am proud to be serving as the Real Estate Consultant on the Steering Team of Housing Options for Aging in Place (HOAP), an Age-friendly Buncombe County Initiative. In just a few years, one in five residents of the County will be age 65 or older. The purpose of HOAP is to create a comprehensive, coordinated initiative that knits together diverse stakeholders across multiple domains to effectively work toward a community where older adults have the ability and choice to age in place. Our goals are for the community to recognize and support safe, accessible, affordable housing as a social determinant of health for older adults; to create new and modified policies and practices (both governmental and organizational) which support and promote affordable and accessible housing options.
Upon arrival in Asheville, I became very active in my synagogue community, Congregation Beth Israel. A regular attendee at services, I am a member of the Ritual Committee, and I often step up to volunteer for events and ad hoc committees. I also serve on the Steering Committee for the Center of Jewish Studies at UNC Asheville. You can find me at one of the Asheville’s many superb restaurants (I happily describe myself as a foodie) or fine theaters (you may even find me on stage now and then), and most definitely at Tourists baseball games. Elie and I love adventuring – continuing to explore the areas in and around Asheville – which broadens and deepens my knowledge of my new home. I can’t wait to help you find yours!
Sara was exactly who we needed to help us find a home. She understood what we needed, guided us in looking for a home, gave excellent knowledgeable advice, and instinctively knew what we were looking for based on our conversations. Sara really listened. She made herself available and is a great communicator. She never got impatient with us, no matter how wishy- washy our decisions became. Sara knew how we needed to proceed when we were considering buying a home, guided us thru the process with the least amount of stress, and helped us tremendously with inspections, and obtaining all we needed to close. Sara helped us after closing with details . She had great connections for obtaining the other services we needed. Sara was great. .

This is my second time working with Sara on a home purchase, this time for my mother. Once again, Sara knocked it out of the park. She is attentive and always puts the needs of her clients first. Sara is honest and does a great job providing professional advice to help her clients make the best decisions. She can juggle multiple clients and still make you feel like you’re her only priority. On top of being a great agent, she’s just a kind person. I’m confident that anyone who works with Sara will be glad they did.

Sara was a pleasure to work with and made home buying a seamless experience. She is a consummate professional - thorough, well connected in the industry and an excellent communicator with timely interactions and updates on the progress and process of purchasing the home. I would certainly work with her again and give her the highest of recommendations.

Sara was a gem of a find for me. It was my first time buying a home and she held my hand in the process gracefully. I appreciated her honest feedback on homes and felt like her interest first and foremost was finding me the right home. She was very responsive and even though she had other clients, I felt like I was her only one. She was always well prepared and early to appointments. I felt very taken care of and would work with Sara again.

Sara is an amazing realtor and a wonderful person. She helped me every step of the way and went above and way beyond what a realtor is supposed to do. She "held my hand" through a long process in a difficult housing market with a remote purchase. I highly recommend Sara for any realty needs. I was very fortunate to have found her and you would be too!
