P.S. As we all know, Hurricane Helene greatly impacted Asheville, and though we are in a period of regrowth and rebuilding, some impacts are long-lasting. Laura worked tirelessly to find me and my husband a home that met a number of difficult criteria (3 beds/2 baths, in the mountains, on several acres, with a good area for gardening, a space for a quiet home office and high-speed internet, within driving distance of Asheville, etc.) within a relatively modest budget, and all during the Hurricane Helene recovery process. She provided excellent advice, information, and enthusiasm while raising important questions and concerns about potential issues with properties that caught our eye. This was especially complicated in our case because we were in Europe for part of the time and across the country for the other, but Laura did an incredible job of giving us remote video tours and navigating novel problems posed by the distance. It would have been easy to let us talk ourselves into buying a problematic property and be done with us on a number of occasions (and considering the challenges we presented, I wouldn’t have blamed her), but she genuinely cared about finding the right place for us at the right price and put in many extra hours along the way to make it happen.
